I
had extensive surgery on my right wrist in June of 1997 which
included a metal plate and six screws on the bone below my wrist. It was fine
until November of 2000 when I noticed a gradual aching in the surgical area and
tingling and numbness of my pinky and ring finger. The pain increased until I
had to wear a wrist grace to function at home with my six kids. I went to the doctor who prescribed Motrin to
reduce the swelling. If that didn’t work I would then need nerve therapy and/or
surgery. It didn’t work in fact the ache, tingling and numbness increased. The
day before returning to the doctor, two separate friends recommended Dr. Alan
Smith. During the visit, it as discovered that my neck and back were out of
alignment, in several places, in fact my neck was starting to curve in the
opposite direction. With treatment, in days my aching wrist, tingling and
numbness went away. I did continue more treatments because even though the pain
went away, my back had to learn the right way to function. Because my right shoulder which was higher
than the left for years, which has always been hard for me. Since I fell out of a tree
when I was a teenager. Thank you so very much Dr. Smith.
